 Joey & Sarah Metzger

Sarah Metzger is a Founder of Saving Grace Farm Ministries with her husband Joseph “Joey” Metzger. Joey and Sarah have been married since 2015.  They both have 2 kids: Lane and Ellie. They also own 3 dogs and 5 horses of their own. Joey is an Army veteran and was introduced to horses when he met Sarah in 2013. Sarah has been involved with horses since she was 12 yrs old. Sarah and Joey are very active in local 4h, as well as active members of their home church Agape Fellowship. Sarah has a minor in Equine Science and a bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University in Human Ecology and Family Science.

Joey and Sarah have volunteered as mentors for a local Royal Family Kids camp for many years and have come to realize that our community in Allen County needs a Ministry targeted to the youth, veterans and emotionally impacted people. The birth of Saving Grace Farm Ministry occurred when the Holy Spirit moved on Sarah and Joey’s heart during a church service, that this was the path chosen for them.

This was the birth of the Saving Grace Farm Ministry. Sarah remembers that as a young girl she would have a lot of emotional struggles and would go out to her barn and grab her horse, “Grace”, and with a halter and lead rope hop on her bareback and go riding in her dad’s fields. They would gallop in the fields leaving all the pain, hurt and worry in the dust. Sarah finds riding horses symbolic to our Faith. We hop on a 1,000 lb. animal trusting that they will take care of us, just as with our Faith we trust that God will take care of us.

Saving Grace Farm Ministry wants to open the opportunity for people and lead them to the love of our Savior Jesus Christ. Using horses simply as a tool and door opener for just that. Taking abused and neglected horses and matching them with children, veterans and families, showing them that with the love of Jesus Christ the pain and hurt can be defeated. Saving Grace Farm Ministry is simply “Healing Hearts and Horses through the Saving Grace of God”.
